I've always had the opinion that the the person who sits by the window gets to control the window shade. It's very simple to me. The aisle seat gets the extra elbow room, the middle seat gets the armrests and the window seat gets the window. Everyone has their own little area of "control" in this very awkward tight space that we are allotted (like cattle). Anyway - apparently some people are coming out with different opinions and it has become quite a conversation even involving the Wall Street Journal and New York Times. I've attached the links below.
